The central claim of STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX since its introduction in 1992 has been the development of test criteria, limit values and test methods on a scientific basis. The testing is carried out by independent OEKO-TEX institutes on the basis of the extensive OEKO-TEX criteria catalog. In the test procedure, they take into account numerous substances, both regulated and non-regulated, that could be harmful to human health. All components of the textile product, i.e. also all threads, buttons and other accessories, are tested for harmful substances.
